All Blacks great Dan Carter has honoured Springboks flanker Schalk Burger as the player with the toughest mindset he faced in international rugby.
The 38-year-old Carter is yet to announce his future plans after not being required for action during his surprise Super Rugby Aoetearoa call-up with the Blues.
But the former world player of the year and super boot didn’t mind a quick reminisce during a chat with Newstalk ZB.
Asked about his toughest opponents during a 112-test career that included two World Cup triumphs, Carter opted for Burger, the tireless blonde South African loose forward.
