Following the horrific accident in Lomolomo, Lautoka on Diwali, a call is being made for people to stop posting gruesome and insensitive photos on social media of accidents as it is traumatic for their families and others as well.

Gruesome and highly graphic photos of the accident are being circulated on social media.

Assistant Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Sashi Kiran says while they call on drivers to be careful, she is also calling on Fijians to help if there is a need or a crisis.

She says it is important to inform the authorities and the media but people must refrain from putting undignified pictures because if you are in that space, you would not want your undignified pictures all over the social media.

Meanwhile, police are continuing their investigations into the accident in Lomolomo where a man had died.
