The COVID-19 pandemic has affected access of many Fijians to an adequate, safe and healthy diet.
While launching the Food and Health Guidelines for Fiji Projects, Acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Health Dr James Fong says the crisis exposes many vulnerabilities in the country's food system and could also impact the food security of the Fijian population.
Dr Fong says good nutrition levels are important nowadays as it contributes to building a strong immune response to a disease.
He hopes they will work with other Ministries and community groups as the project addresses problems that cut across.
