Businesses, except for high risk, can operate in all non-containment areas of Viti Levu following COVID safe measures and observing the 8pm to 4am curfew.
This was highlighted by the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport, Shaheen Ali.
Ali says for Lami-Suva-Nausori, only essential and approved businesses can operate.
For the Nadi-Lautoka zone, all businesses can operate, with the exception of those that are considered high risk.
He says they are now allowing all businesses, including high-risk businesses to operate in Vanua Levu and maritime islands.
He says businesses should follow the COVID-19 guidelines they have set out.
Ali says they are also working on the protocols for high risk businesses to open in containment zones and are quite advanced for businesses such as hairdressers and barber shops.
Business owners are urged to ensure the COVID-19 Safe protocols are being followed with the mandatory wearing of masks, maintaining 2-metre physical distancing, regular hand-washing/sanitisation and ensure careFIJI app is activated.
