Fiji Rugby Union Regional Development Manager Sale Sorovaki has highlighted that due to the cancellation of the 2019/2020 HSBC 7s Series, national sevens players will be taking part in the Skipper Cup competition.
Sorovaki says sevens players like Meli Derenalagi are playing for Suva, Sevuloni Mocenacagi and his brothers are playing for Nadroga, Vilimoni Botitu will feature for Nadi while former 7s captain Kalione Nasoko will feature for Yasawa.
He says this will ensure that they are given game-time as part of their preparation towards the Olympic Games next year.
The Skipper Cup match and Farebrother Sullivan Trophy Challenge between Suva and Nadroga will be held next Saturday at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
