“Invest in early childhood development.”
This is the call from the Pacific Islands Forum Chair, Voreqe Bainimarama who says the sad fact is that climate change will be an issue our children will inherit and their well-being must be central to our resilience, priorities and resourcing.
While speaking during the celebration of Pacific Regional Council for Early Childhood Development in Suva this morning, Bainimarama says if we want resilient communities, we must invest in our children.
He also launched the pacific child website which will be a platform for Pacific countries to exchange information and resources and directly support the nations in coordinating their investment priorities and action.
Bainimarama says this is all geared towards the young children to reach their potential.
Children from different parts of the Pacific also performed items during the celebration this morning.
