Five police officers who were allegedly involved in an assault case in Naqia, Tailevu have had their bail extended.
They appeared before High Court Judge Justice Riyaz Hamza this morning.
Sevanaia Narogi, Kameli Tukana, Mafoa Koro-saya and Inoke Nagata are charged with assaulting Inoke Lagicere while Jokaveti Rabuku is charged with conspiring to defeat justice by interfering with witnesses.
The alleged incident happened on 14th April 2020.
It is alleged Lagicere was assaulted and thrown off a bridge by a group of police officers dressed in civilian clothing.
The case will be called on the 24th of this month.
