27-year-old Apisai Madigibuli's bail has been denied in the matter where he is alleged to have murdered his 25-year-old wife in April this year.
Madigibuli who is charged with one count of murder, appeared before Justice Dane Tuiqereqere this morning.
Justice Tuiqereqere says he is a risk to the community, the victim’s family and the witnesses.
He says Madigibuli's bail is not in the interest of the people.
The defence counsel earlier argued that if he is released on bail, there will be no breach of the Domestic Violence Restraining Order as the victim has passed away.
The matter is adjourned to the 3rd of December for a Pre Trial Conference.
