Argentina started their 2024 Rugby Championship campaign on a high after defeating the All Blacks 38-30 in Wellington last night.

Flyhalf Santiago Carreras was the toast of his Argentinian side scoring a total of 18 points off his boots to help them secure their second ever win over the All Blacks on their home soil.

The All Blacks took a 20-15 lead at the break after scoring two converted tries through Sam Darry and Daniel Lienert-Brown with Damien McKenzie converting two penalty kicks at goal, while Argentina scored two tries, one conversion and a penalty kick at goal.

Argentina came back strongly in the second spell to score two more converted tries and three penalty kicks at goal while the All Blacks only managed to score one converted try and a penalty kick at goal.

The All Blacks will take on Argentina at 7.05pm next Saturday at Eden Park in round 2 of the Rugby Championship and the Wallabies will take on the Springboks at 9.45pm next Saturday in Perth.

Meanwhile, the Springboks are currently leading the overall standings with 5 points after defeating the Wallabies 33-7 last night.

Argentina is second with 4 points while the All Blacks and the Wallabies are in 3rd and 4th place respectively.
