Police have charged a second teenage boy over an alleged violent home invasion that left former Wallabies star Toutai Kefu and his family with serious injuries.

The Wallabies legend and his family were allegedly attacked in their Coorparoo home in the early hours of Monday morning, leaving four family members with serious stab wounds.

Yesterday afternoon, police said they charged a 13-year-old boy who they alleged was involved in a burglary and unlawful use of a silver Hyundai SUV from a residence at Forest Lake at about 2:15am on Monday.

The boy was also charged over his alleged involvement in the burglary and wounding incident at Coorparoo.

He was refused bail and appeared at the Brisbane Children's Court where he was re-manded in custody to re-appear on Friday.

On Monday, Police charged a 15-year-old boy with four counts of attempted murder, three counts of grievous bodily harm, and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, break and entering, burglary and deprivation of liberty.

Kefu played 60 tests for the Wallabies in a seven-year international career.

He finished as the most capped Wallaby number eight of all time.

He was appointed head coach of the Tongan national rugby side in 2016 and coached the squad through to the 2019 World Cup in Japan.
