President, Sadasivan Naicker.

TISI Sangam has reassured everyone that all their staff and priests are fully vaccinated and expect all devotees to follow the protocols set by the Health Ministry on requirements for entry to the premises.

President, Sadasivan Naicker says they are happy to be able to welcome devotees in all their national and local temples.

Naicker says they will have monitoring systems in place where vaccination cards will be checked at the entrance, temperature will be noted and mask-wearing and social distancing will be mandatory as well.

He says Navratri will be the first major festival they will be celebrating in the temples this year. Navratri celebrations which starts next Thursday is a Hindu festival that spans nine nights and is observed in the honor of nine goddesses.

He says people will be allowed to enter the temple on a first come first serve basis so that the capacity does not exceed 70%.

Naicker further says they are waiting on clarification on whether children can be allowed in temples as vaccination is not mandatory for those under the age of 18.

He adds if the Health Ministry does not allow children in public places such as temples and other houses of worship, then they will have to follow the protocol.

The Nadi temple has a capacity of 5,000 people while the Howell Road temple has a capacity of about 1,500 people.
