A team of Police officers are in Kadavu to to assist their colleagues based at the Kadavu Police Station and support efforts of the Ministry of Health in light of the growing number of COVID-19 cases on the island.
Chief Operations Officer ACP Abdul Khan says the situation in Kadavu called for an all hands on deck approach in support of the Ministry of Health's efforts while at the same time ensuring routine police operations were not impacted.
ACP Khan says the situation would determine the duration of their deployment and thanked the officers and their families for their support as it would mean having to sacrifice time away from their loved ones.
