Accused in Afroz Khan murder case seeks more time to finalise pre-trial matters
Edward Nand, Viliame Vulawalu and Semi Naisevunivai

Semi Naisevunivai who along with Edward Nand and Viliame Vulawalu are accused of killing Afroz Khan is seeking more time to finalise the pre-trial conference matters.

Naisevunivai’s lawyer Tobia Ravuniwa says their main concern is their inability to visit clients at the Suva Remand Centre for the past six weeks.

He says they have been writing and emailing the Fiji Corrections Service, but since the procedure requires prior approval, it takes time to receive access.

Ravuniwa also highlighted that Naisevunivai has filed his second bail application.

Khan allegedly murdered between November 27th and December 12th last year.

It is alleged that Khan was struck multiple times with a wheel spanner before he was thrown into Waisere River in Tailevu.

The matter will be heard again on the 4th of July.
