The Government has done its part and we support and recognise that every child must have access to quality early care and education.
Those are the words of Analesi Delailoa-Tuicaumia, the founder and Director of Child Benefit Fiji and Early Learning and Pacific Nations School to parents and students that were part of the Mobile Kindy Fiji at Albert Park in Suva.
Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum also spent the morning with students.
The students who attend various mobile kindergartens in the Suva-Lami-Nasinu corridor, had the opportunity to have their parents participate with them on the Big Box Day – an activity organised for children and parents to do craftwork on recycled boxes that gives them the chance to enhance child creativity and for parents to understand the importance of being present in their children’s learning.
Delailoa-Tuicaumia says they were there to encourage parents to co-create with their children in the Big Box Day – where they create their boxes and have time to play and just be present.
She says as adults, the greatest gift we can give our children is our presence and for them to feel it.
She also shared that the Attorney General’s presence with them gives them the confidence to know that Early Childhood Learning educators are not alone in the work that they do.
Delailoa-Tuicaumia says to have one of our leaders there, they feel that the work that they do in going out to communities is recognised and they know that the Government of the day recognises the importance of early years.
