The Accident Compensation Commission of Fiji has so far paid over $15.7 million in compensation to victims of motor vehicle, employment and school accidents.

The government established scheme came into effect on the 1st of January 2018.

ACCF says they are concerned with the recent motor vehicle accidents, particularly during the festive season adding that between the 25th and 30th of December 2020, we lost 6 lives.

They add they also note with concern the accident on 1st January in Tailevu where a driver lost control of the bus that he was driving, causing injuries to the passengers.

ACCF adds this is totally unacceptable and all these serious injuries and loss of lives on our roads are unnecessary and avoidable.
