Fiji is sending a 55-member delegation to the COP 29 in Baku, Azerbaijan next month.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad confirmed this to fijivillage News saying that 95 percent of the costs will be funded externally.
Going from the government side are Professor Prasad, Attorney General Graham Leung, Minister for Public Works Ro Filipe Tuisawau, Minister for Lands Filimoni Vosarogo, Minister for Disaster Management Sakiasi Ditoka, Minister for Health Dr Atonio Lalabalavu, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Lenora Qereqeretabua, and Assistant Minister for Women Sashi Kiran.
Also confirmed are two opposition members that include Member of Parliament Ketan Lal, and Permanent Secretaries from the relevant ministries and some senior staff.
The delegation will also include those from the private sector, NGO’s and other Non Governmental stakeholders.
