8 micro, small and medium entrepreneurs will now have a better chance to enhance and grow their business as they have received grants from the Ministry of Trade, Cooperatives and SMEs.
This includes 3 entrepreneurs who received grants under the Young Entrepreneurship Scheme, 1 entrepreneur under the National Export Strategy and 5 entrepreneurs under the Trade Enhancement Programme.
Elizabeth Rossetta Sawaki who operates Matavuvale Catering says she is excited to receive $1000 grant as she will now be able to buy more equipment for her business, a BBQ set and a tent.
She says this will boost their business and satisfy their customer needs as well, as they have started getting catering orders for the coming months.
Sawaki says they have faced a lot of challenges including fewer sales and financial issues.
She says this is her only source of income and encouraging people to do their best, have faith and always start small.
While speaking during the grant handover Minister for Trade, Cooperatives and SME’s Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Manoa Kamikamica says the grant programmes not only assists but stimulates growth within the targeted markets.
He says it will enhance innovation and creativity by providing support and helping budding exports.
