70 teams from schools around Viti Levu will be participating in the National Vodafone Secondary School Basketball Competition which kicks off next week in Lautoka.

Vodafone Senior Business Relationship Manager Western and Northern Region, Prashant Prasad, says like every sport, basketball is more than just a game, as it teaches discipline, teamwork, perseverance and leadership because these values resonate deeply with Vodafone’s mission.

He says they are incredibly proud to support the Fiji Secondary Schools Basketball Nationals for the second year – a championship, which showcases the best of our nation’s talent in Basketball.

Prasad says they look forward with great anticipation to the sensational games ahead.

He says the road to victory will not be easy, but it is facing challenges head-on that true champions are made reminding the student athletes that they are all champions.

He urges them to play with passion, respect and integrity, and no matter the outcome, they have to remember that they are all winners for representing their teams and schools.

Prasad also thanked the organizers, coaches, and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to make this championship a reality adding their efforts and commitment to the sport and its players is commendable and invaluable.

The National Secondary School Basketball Competition will be held at the Lautoka Multipurpose Courts from next Thursday to Saturday.
