A 7-month-old baby and a 1-year-old child have sustained burns in two separate incidents.
The 7-month old baby is admitted at the Lautoka Hospital after she was scalded by hot water from a kettle in Malolo, Nadi.
In another incident, a 1-year-old child sustained burns when a cup of hot tea spilled on her feet.
She was rushed to the Nadi Hospital where she remains admitted.
Police are investigating the cases for parental negligence.
They are also calling on parents and guardians to be alert and vigilant to the safety threats in and around their homes as accidents can occur at any time.
