The Health Ministry's Chief Medical Advisor, Doctor Jemesa Tudravu says 507 individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 are in 11 community isolation facilities while 291 are in home isolation facilities.
Doctor Tudravu says 112 individuals are in five hospital based isolation facilities and more than 900 people are awaiting retrievals into isolation facilities.
He says there are also people who are caring or looking after COVID-19 patients at home.
Doctor Tudravu says these people can still look after their loved ones without contracting the virus through isolating the COVID-19 patient into a separate room with a separate set of beddings and utensils.
Doctor Tudravu says interaction should be minimised and the home must be well ventilated.
He says all other proper COVID safe measures should come into play like wearing of mask, washing of hands regularly and physical distancing.
Doctor Tudravu adds there should be a strict rule regarding visitors.
Doctor Tudravu says all these caregivers are also briefed by the health teams on the signs that they should watch out for if the person that has COVID-19 is getting worse.
