5 people were rescued by police officers in Tavua last night while 4 people are missing.
NDMO Director Vasiti Soko says they are also thankful to the Navy Search and Rescue Team for their assistance in rescuing the 5 people.
She says the search is also continuing for 2 fishermen who were reported missing on Wednesday.
They had left Cikobia Village for Vunikodi Village in Macuata in a fibreglass boat.
Soko says 2 women have also been reported missing in Vatuwaqa.
The 2 women from Nakasi who went fishing yesterday were reported missing after they failed to return home.
