5 boys still in police custody for their alleged involvement in a series of break-ins in Namaka

Five boys aged 13 to 16 years remain in police custody for a series of house and car break-ins in the Namaka area.

Police have been questioning the three boys aged 13 years, a boy aged 14 years and another boy aged 16 years in the presence of their guardians.

An operations team from Namaka responded to an alleged break-in at a major retail outlet where they arrested the two 13-year-olds.

Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says subsequent searches were conducted at the boys’ home with their guardians present and items alleged to have been stolen from other similar cases of break-ins and car break-ins were found.

She says information was also obtained regarding the alleged involvement of other juveniles in the break-ins reported in the Namaka area since early this month.

They have also been taken in.
