43-year-old Tokasa Vosavakadua of Newtown is offering to clean people’s houses and wash clothes in exchange for groceries as her family is currently living on their last remaining food.

Vosavakadua was the sole breadwinner of her family of three and was told to stay home from last week.

She was working for United Apparel in Nadawa and was told that she will return to work when things normalize.

Vosavakadua confirms to Fijivillage that they spend over $250 on groceries in a month.

Vosavakadua’s 16-year-old daughter, Biu Vakaloloma posted on Facebook via the Barter for Better Fiji page, that her mother is willing to do any house work for groceries.

Vakaloloma says they have started to plant around their house and they know that this will just sustain them for some meals in the future.

She says they have received some assistance from some of their family members.

Vakaloloma says even with this help, they are hoping for the best as they are still facing challenges and all they can do now is just pray.
