4 women charged for obtaining financial advantage after allegedly receiving payment of $10 from members of the public

Four women charged jointly with 27 counts of allegedly obtaining financial advantage will be produced in the Ba Magistrates Court today.

Police say the accused allegedly made verbal presentations to the settlements of Navau and Field 40 claiming that billions of dollars belonging to the indigenous Fijians is kept in a bank in the USA, and will only be released upon registration for the Live-Life Claim Forms after the payment of fees of $10.

The villagers were also allegedly promised that each registered member will receive $20,000 and monthly installments of $5,000 to $6,000.

The accused allegedly say they were representatives of the National De Jure Assembly of Fiji and the Viti Kabani Movement.

Police say some victims stated that they also gave their bank account numbers, however no receipts were issued to them.

No payment has been received by these registered members from the Viti Kabani Movement or National De Jure Assembly of Fiji in relation to what was initially promised to them.
