It was a heartbreaking morning for a family residing in Waidamudamu Road in Vunimoli, Labasa, as their 4-bedroom house was destroyed by fire yesterday morning.
Sharlmendra Kamal Bhan, the house owner, told fijivillage News that the fire started around 11.30am, and his mother, wife and baby were in the house when the fire broke out.
He believes the fire started in the bedroom, and the estimated damages are around $150,000.
Bhan says the fire brigade reached the scene on time but was unable to extinguish the fire.
We have sent questions to the National Fire Authority regarding this incident.
