33 students were honoured with graduation certificates at the Fiji Museum after completing a three-day Warli Art Workshop, which celebrated creativity, cultural connection, and one of India’s oldest storytelling traditions.
Indian High Commissioner Suneet Mehta stresses that Warli art quietly reminds us that art does not have to be complicated to be powerful.
Mehta adds that it reflects values of community, balance, and respect for the natural world values that feel very familiar here in Fiji as well.
He highlighted that these workshops in art, dance, and traditional practices aim to celebrate the diversity of Indian culture while creating inclusive spaces for learning, idea-sharing, and joyful creativity.
Mehta says that workshops like this help ensure these traditions continue to be passed on in ways that are engaging and relevant for younger generations.
He also congratulated all the participants for the time, effort, and creativity they had shown over the three days.
