3 people have died due to dengue fever from November last year to date while 300 cases were recorded during this period.
Minister for Health Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete says people need to put health as a priority and this will be achieved as they continue to work with stakeholders to push on the ongoing awareness programs on dengue and other diseases.
He says they have had success in reducing the number of cases compared to outbreaks in the early 2000s, where more than 30,000 cases were recorded.
Waqainabete adds the use of the Wolbachia method has nullified dengue.
