29 police prosecutors graduate from Basic Prosecution Course

29 police prosecutors have graduated from the Basic Prosecution Course facilitated by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The six-weeks course covered rules of evidence, legal ethics and analysis, filing of the charges, bail applications as well as mock trial.

Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, Lee Burney reminded the graduates that their role as prosecutors is very crucial and the threshold that they have to meet in the court of guilt beyond reasonable doubt is very high.

He says if they need assistance, the doors of the DPP’s Office are always open.
