27-year-old Asiveli Devo should be hailed a hero and given a medal after he gave his life to rescue a drowning Year 7 boy from the bottom of the Waimanu river.
Devo rescued the young boy and brought him on land and quickly applied all the necessary life-saving procedures to allow him to breathe again.
