A 25-year-old car wash worker from Narere is in Police custody after he was caught last night driving a stolen taxi in Lautoka.

Police say on Friday morning, a 42-year-old man took his taxi to the Narere Car Wash for cleaning and left the vehicle there to run errands, but when he returned, the taxi was missing.

The matter was reported to the Nasinu Police Station and communicated to all Police stations.

Police confirms the vehicle was later intercepted at a roadblock near the Lomolomo Community Post in Lautoka, where the man was arrested.

He was escorted back to Suva this morning and handed over to Nasinu Police officers.

Investigations continue.
