23 inmates that have less than 12-months remaining in their sentences will showcase their handiwork this Friday at the Suva Civic Centre while the Fiji Corrections Service Yellow Ribbon March will be held on Saturday at Albert Park.

While launching the two annual programs, Acting Commissioner Salote Panapasa says looking at the success of these events, they would like to acknowledge the Government, religious denominations, the corporate sector, communities and the Vanua, and the media for advocating the Yellow Ribbon Project in the past years.

She says this is a trademark of the Commission and it is here to stay.

Panapasa says as a result of these programs, the recidivism rate or reoffending rate has reduced to 1.76 percent of the total number of inmates that is released.

The Employment Expo will be held from 9am to 12pm Friday while the Yellow Ribbon Walk will start at 6am Saturday.
