23 Macuata participants complete training to become self-sufficient

23 participants from the province of Macuata who are part of the Welfare Graduation Program will now be able to be self-sufficient after completing the economic empowerment initiative, which is designed to help social welfare recipients start their own businesses and become financially independent.

Macuata Provincial Administrator Revoni Rakasalu says he has encouraged all participants to take the learning seriously, implement it with dedication, and become role models for others in their communities.

Rakasalu says training initiatives like these can have a long-term impact on individuals and those around them.

He says such an initiative can support beneficiaries in generating income and improving their livelihoods, aiming to reduce their long-term dependency on social welfare.

Rakasalu also highlighted that this training is a core component of the empowerment process, aimed at preparing participants for the upcoming seeding phase of their small business initiatives.
