16-year-old Kelera Mudunasoko has bagged Team Fiji’s 3rd gold medal in the Pacific Games after winning the 100 metres Women’s breaststroke final last night.
The Swami Vivekananda College student clocked a personal best time of 1 minute 13.01 seconds.
The gold medal win has added to Mudunasoko’s tally of 4 medals after winning 3 silver medals in the 50 metres breaststroke, 200 metres breaststroke and 4x100 metres freestyle relay.
Mudunasoko says words cannot describe how happy she is with her achievement and she is content with how she performed.
Mudunasoko dedicated the win to her coach for pushing her to the limit and her family as well for their huge support towards her journey.
Meanwhile, 14-year-old Anahira McCutcheon bagged her sixth medal at the Pacific Games 2023 after winning bronze in the Women’s 100-metres freestyle final.
Olivia Borg of Samoa took the silver medal while Malou Douillard of New Caledonia won the gold medal.
Team Fiji also won silver in the 4x50 metres freestyle mixed relay finishing behind New Caledonia.
The relay team comprises of David Young, Anahira McCutcheon, Rosemarie Rova and Hansel McCaig.
Fiji is currently in 13th place in the overall Pacific Games medal tally with 3 gold, 11 silver and 9 bronze medals.
New Caledonia is back at 1st place with 32 gold, 23 silver and 15 bronze while Australia is in second place with 23 gold, 13 silver and 6 bronze.
