As of 14th April, 121,403 Fijians have received booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and people are being urged to get their booster shot if they still have not received it.
The Permanent Secretary for Health, Doctor James Fong says their school vaccination program has also been progressing and 88% of all Fijians over 12 years have had 2 doses of the COVID 19 vaccine.
94.5% of the eligible population are now fully vaccinated.
Doctor Fong says given the competing health priority issues, he has instructed his teams to do targeted booster programs for the vulnerable and focus on our 12 to 18-year-olds through the school vaccination program.
Meanwhile the Ministry of Health has recorded 6 new cases in the 24 hour period which ended at 8am yesterday.
According to the Ministry, there are currently 29 active cases in the country.
There are no new deaths to report.
