Ten new jobs have been created after the opening of the new Commercial Amusement and Kava Bar in Laucala Bay.
Owner, Nausheem Ali says this was an investment of about $120,000.
Ali says the idea behind this was to get not only working people but also university students to de-stress.
He says they managed to open this new business just one and a half years after they opened a supermarket.
Ali says they took the risk in pursuing this business in these trying times but he urges other investors and business owners to do so.
He says the facility has 7 billiard tables, a kava bar and a VIP room which costs $50 an hour. Ali says the VIP room has one billiard table, PS 5 and Sky TV.
While officiating at the opening of the Amusement Centre and Kava Bar, Acting Prime Minister and Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says businesses that invest when the economy is down by having a fore-site are ones that reap the benefits the most.
Sayed-Khaiyum says a lot of people were hesitant to invest but Nausheem Ali has made that investment when the market was a bit slow.
Sayed-Khaiyum also played a friendly game of pool with Coca Cola’s senior executive and Marist Rugby President, Lawrence Tikaram during the opening.
