A one year old toddler has drowned in the Mulomulo River a few metres away from his home.
Police say he was found floating in the river last night.
They say the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident is under investigation and Nadi Police will be looking into the element of negligence.
Police are again calling on parents and guardians to please monitor and closely supervise the movement of children at all times, as accidents can occur at any given time.
29 people have drowned so far this year compared to 27 in the same period last year.
