The Ministry for Rural, Maritime and Disaster Management aims to move families sheltering in schools into tents temporarily before school starts on the 18th of next month.
Minister Inia Seruiratu says they have set aside some tents that have been provided by their donors and partners for these families.
Seruiratu says the Ministry for Education teams and RFMF engineers are on the ground in the North to make assessments on damaged schools.
The Minister adds families in the local communities sheltering in churches and halls will also be considered for receiving tents.
Seruiratu says they are slowly transitioning from response and recovery stage to rehabilitation phase.
He says in terms of rehabilitation they are relying on the information that is being provided by the Provincial Administrators and District Officers in the three provinces in Vanua Levu.
Seruiratu says they are satisfied with what they have achieved so far on the ground.
