Wallabies Coach Dave Rennie says former Melbourne Storm winger Suliasi Vunivalu won’t wear a Wallabies jersey this year.

A lot has been said about Vunivalu being brought into the Wallabies set-up without any professional rugby experience.

But this situation has happened before.

Marika Koroibete joined the Wallabies on their end-of-season tour to Europe in 2016 before making his debut the following year.

Rennie says he wants Vunivalu to earn the right to wear the jersey.

Vunivalu is 24-years-old.

He scored 86 tries during his five-year stint with Melbourne Storm.

As a youngster growing up in Fiji, Vunivalu played at outside centre and on the wing before winning a scholarship to complete his schooling at Saint Kentigern College in New Zealand.

The Wallabies meet Argentina at 8.45pm Saturday in the Tri-Nations.
