 Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha reiterates Diwali is on 13th November

Following several questions from members of the public, Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha has reiterated that Diwali will be celebrated on Monday, 13th November and not on Sunday.

According to the Sabha, the auspicious time for Diwali starts at 9.14pm on Sunday and ends at 9.26pm on Monday.

They say yam deep daan can be done after 5pm on Sunday while Shree Lakshmi Pooja time on Diwali is from 6.18pm to 8.31pm.

Sabha National Secretary says Diwali symbolizes the victory of knowledge over ignorance, and of light over darkness.

He says Diwali is one of the major religious festivals in Hinduism, lasting for five days from the 13th day of the dark half of the lunar month Ashvin to the second day of the light half of the lunar month Kartik.

Tiwari says the Sabha’s preparations started last month which include inviting guests, setting up programmes, stage, performances, sweets and dinner. Tiwari says on 10th of November, Sanatan Fiji will be visiting Golden Age Home in Samabula for a small program on Diwali.
