Good news for students of Lekutu Secondary School, Yadua Primary School, Bua District School and Dama Primary School in the North as rebuilding works for these schools will begin on Friday.

Minister for Education, Rosy Akbar confirmed this while receiving furniture for Labasa Special School.

Akbar says students studying in these schools are still in learning spaces like tents as their schools were severely damaged by the cyclone.

She says they will be rebuilding seven classrooms for Lekutu Secondary School and a 3 classroom block each for Yadua Primary School, Dama Primary School and Bua District School.

Akbar adds they have told the contractors to finish construction work in 6 to 10 weeks.

The Minister says they have also assisted close to 100 students in Lekutu Secondary School and 28 students of Yadua Primary School with footwear, uniforms and school bags.

Akbar also highlighted that if anyone knows of any school that needs assistance should contact the Ministry.
