Police continue their war on drugs after they uprooted more marijuana plants in the Northern Division and Kadavu.

Police Chief of Operations ACP Abdul Khan says successful raids conducted by a joint team of officers from the Tukavesi Police Station and the Police Special Response Unit has led to the discovery of more than 600 marijuana plants in the north.

The plants were uprooted from different farms in the Kanakana farming area, Bagasau, Delai Vunimoli farming area, Devo Estate, and Nadavaci village.

Khan says a few farm owners have been arrested and were produced in the Labasa Magistrates Court while owners of other farms are yet to be identified.

Meanwhile, more than 1000 plants believed to be marijuana were uprooted from a farm in Namalata, Kadavu this week.

The owner of the farm is yet to be identified.
