Hibiscus Festival Queen contestant, Miss I-Tech Pacific Salanieta Galo has called for increased attention and awareness on women’s health, with a particular focus on reproductive health.

While speaking on fijivillage Straight Talk with Vijay Narayan, Galo emphasised that women’s health is an important issue that often does not receive the recognition it deserves.

When asked about which specific aspects of women’s health are being neglected, Galo highlighted reproductive health issues, sharing her personal experience with ovarian cysts.

She expressed her desire to raise awareness and urged organisations and individuals to support efforts aimed at educating and empowering women about their health rights.

Miss Yue Lai Hotel, Shyna Lata echoed similar concerns, sharing her sister’s struggle with ovarian cysts and describing it as a painful and distressing experience.

She says she would like to advocate for this issue because women are the most important part of our communities.

She adds that if women are not well looked after, then our future cannot move forward. Miss Playland Fantasy Talei May, Miss Emerald Developments Phoebe Madden, and Miss Merchant Finance Maria Ali agree that women’s health is a significant cause for concern.

The contestants say that raising awareness and supporting women’s health is essential for stronger families and communities.
