Wallabies veteran Matt To’omua says coach Dave Rennie’s new-look squad represents a ‘new chapter’ for Australian rugby – and he cannot wait to see how the host of gifted youngsters perform in the green and gold.

He says the Rugby AU competition has helped to breed a new generation not ‘scarred’ by being consistently beaten by Kiwi Super Rugby sides.

And, ahead of a blockbuster Bledisloe opener on Sunday afternoon, the Rebels man has remarkably claimed he’s more keen to beat the All Blacks than win the World Cup.

To’omua said the World Cup represents the ‘final goal’ for new coach Dave Rennie – but he doesn’t expect the new mastermind to pick his initial team with an eye on the competition in three years’ time.

The Wallabies face the All Blacks at 3pm this Sunday in the first Bledisloe Cup match in Wellington.
