Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says they are looking at replicating the COVID-19 protocols practiced after the arrival of the HMAS Adelaide from Australia with the Bula Bubble concept.
He says they are hoping this will further strengthen Fiji and Australia’s ability to allow travel between the two countries.
Australia’s largest ship, the HMAS Adelaide is currently in Fiji with specialised personnel, equipment and provisions to assist in TC Yasa rehabilitation efforts in the Northern Division.
Sayed-Khaiyum says a team which consists of the Permanent Secretaries for Ministry of Health, Economy, and Trade and Tourism is working with their Australian counterparts on how they can facilitate travel.
The Attorney General says this will give further comfort to the health authorities of both countries.
