Dr Alipate Vakamocea has been elected as the new President of the Fiji Medical Association for the term of 2024 to 2026, following the Annual General Meeting held at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa in Denarau, Nadi.

The meeting also elected the new office bearers with Dr Ronald Kumar as the new Vice President, Dr Miriama Tukana as the Secretary, and Dr Ahmed Shakeel Shariff as the new Association Treasurer.

The Executive Council members include Dr William May, Dr Basharat Munshi, Dr Sailosi Ratumaitavuki, Dr Myrielle Allen, Dr Pritisheel Kirti and Dr Sudiksha Singh.

The Association says they congratulate the new office bearers and look forward to their leadership in advancing the interests of the medical community and promoting healthcare excellence in Fiji.

The FMA remains committed to advocating for the welfare of medical professionals, strengthening the healthcare system, and enhancing public health outcomes across the nation.

The newly elected team will serve a two-year term and is dedicated to continuing the legacy of excellence and service that the Association has upheld for over six decades.
