All Blacks rookie Wallace Sititi has caught the eye of a rival code as his stocks continue to rise.

The 22-year-old loose forward was a surprise selection in coach Scott Robertson’s first squad, picked ahead of Blues’ Super Rugby Pacific winner Hoskins Sotutu after a breakout season with the Chiefs.

Sititi was again among the top-performing forwards, defying his youth and inexperience to help the All Blacks close out the tournament with a comfortable 33-13 win over the Wallabies on Saturday night.

Sititi showed incredible footwork to set up the All Blacks’ first try, scored by right winger Sevu Reece.

He carried a game-high 19 times and was a force on both sides of the ball.

Now, New Zealand Rugby might have a fight on their hands to retain their new star.

Robertson revealed after the second Bledisloe Cup test that Sititi has started attracting interest from the NRL.

He says a couple of league guys have asked after him but he says, mate, they’ve signed him for 10 years.

The All Blacks coach says because of the profile he’s got; the size, he’s got a power game and skill set.
